Cate now sits at 4-5 (3-0 in league) after an 11-7 win against league rival Thacher. The team has now beaten each of its Condor league opponents and is drawing close to another Condor League title after today’s win.
Doubles led the way with 7 of 9, including a convincing sweep from new #1’s Kate Dehlendorf and Summer Christensen. The pair has been practicing together for a few days now, but this was their first time playing together in competition. Victoria Herman/Pharibe Pope and Eva Herman/Jean Shen each added two wins to the tally.
Singles was again bolstered by dominant play from sophomore standout Julia Gan, who won her three sets 6-1, 6-1, 6-1 and remains undefeated. McKenna Madden, also a sophomore, added another win against the Thacher #2 before losing a tough tie-break set to a strong freshman #3 from Thacher.
The girls will be playing at home again this Saturday at 2pm during parents weekend, facing Laguna Blanca for the second time this year.
