Last weekend I had the opportunity to make the annual trip back to Redlands for our alumni match. It was great to catch up with old teammates and friends, and we had a great turnout as usual.
Among the seven decades of returning players were Doug and Randy Verdieck, two of the most accomplished collegiate tennis players of all time. Their father, Jim Verdieck, coached Redlands University to 11 national titles and Doug and Randy have a number of national team, singles, and doubles titles between them during their time as Redlands players. Doug, returning for the first time since 1984, put it to this year’s Bulldogs that it is time for a return to the championship level. Here’s hoping for a great season for Bulldog Tennis in 2014!
HI TREV – sounds like it was a fun time!
