The Owls dropped a close one today in Redlands, losing by a score of 8-10.

In the first round of play, Laguna recorded wins from Phillip Hicks at #2 singles and Martin Barnick/Tristan Prinz at #1 doubles (7-5), but fell behind 2-to-4.

The second round saw the owls fight back to even the match at 6-to-6 on strong play from Hicks (6-2) and Ben Furukawa (6-4). Doubles recorded two wins as well from Prinz/Barnick (6-2) and #2 doubles combo Henry Farrell/Atty Roddick (6-2).

Laguna added wins from Furukawa (6-1) and Prinz/Barnick (6-4), but it wasn’t enough, as Redlands closed out the other 4 sets.

It was a tough loss, but a good experience, and we’ll now head to the desert to watch the pros in action at The Indian Wells Tennis Gardens.
